Room 29 used the following poems as inspiration for our artwork shown here on the Senior school blog.
Firstly we sketched our pictures having read the poems. Secondly we went over the outlines with a sharpie. Finally we used powdered paint dye to colour our pictures. We hope you enjoy!
The sunshine
The sun rises over the horizon it is Tamanui-te-ra a blazing furnace, godlike, to warm my chilled skin - Ah! I am warm
The sun shines to ripen the fruits of summer Oh! What life joy will blossom and drive away sorrow that is within me - Ah! I am warm
The Rainbow
The sky is misty the sun shines a rainbow is seen it is a god. Light misty rains falls the sun shines a rainbow is seen it is a go.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet - these are the colours of the rainbow.
Room 15 thinks you have all done a fantastic job on your art. The details were very clear and it was colourful. The sun designs were very creative and the rainbows looked realistic.
Wonderful art, room 29. The pictures have photographed well.
